On Saturday, June 21, at 7:00 PM, Music in the Somerset Hills proudly presents Silver Screen: A Cinematic Choral Celebration at The Pingry School’s Hauser Auditorium in Basking Ridge, NJ. This thrilling concert will bring the magic of film and television to life, featuring the Somerset Hills Chorus and additional instrumentalists.
Audiences will be transported through the grandeur of cinematic history, from the majestic choral anthems of Handel and Mozart to the unforgettable themes of Hollywood’s greatest blockbusters. With a diverse program spanning Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, The Lion King, Game of Thrones, Home Alone, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and more, this performance will celebrate the powerful role of music in storytelling.
The Somerset Hills Chorus will bring these iconic soundtracks to life, weaving together a musical journey across fantasy, adventure, drama, and cheer. The concert will be further enhanced by engaging narration, providing insight into the composers and the lasting impact of these legendary scores.

Katherine Fortunato begins her second season with Heartbeat Opera, performing their intimate new take on Richard Strauss’s SALOME. Sung in English to recapture the shock of Strauss’s scandalous classic, this work features a fresh 10-instrument orchestration by Dan Schlosberg.

Sacred and Profane: Sheree Clement & Robert Sirota
Composers Robert Sirota and Sheree Clement present Sacred and Profane, a performance that invites audiences to explore the dual narratives of conflict and reconciliation. A unique blend of chamber music and opera, Sirota and Clement’s music grapples with the human condition through the lenses of comedy, drama, and lyricism. The evening will feature an all-star group of performers including soprano Ariadne Greif, baritone Paul Pinto, the Momenta Quartet, cellist Benjamin Larsen, pianist Hyungjin Choi, flutist Roberta Michel, violists Jonah Sirota and Nadia Sirota, and percussionist Katherine Fortunato.
